12 strange superstitions you would have never imagined that exist in India

Superstition
ˌsuːpəˈstɪʃ(ə)n,ˌsjuː-/
noun
 – excessively credulous belief in and reverence for the supernatural.
“he dismissed the ghost stories as mere superstition”
Above mentioned is the dictionary meaning of superstition. Being an Indian, I have grown up watching people practice some really weird superstitions, and I was always silenced when I tried to ask the logic behind them. A Black cat crossing the road while going somewhere or sneezing before leaving are considered bad signs. These are the examples of some really common superstitions.
But the other day, while surfing one Quora, I came across a really interesting thread which talked about the superstitions prevalent in India. There were some really unbelievable ones, as shared by the users. Check them out –
