15 life lessons we learned from the Tom and Jerry show!

Entertainment

Tom and Jerry, the classic comic series, always left us in splits in our childhood days. We enjoyed the cute little antics of Tom and Jerry. It was more of a routine to watch the comic cartoon series.  They ran after each other for their lives, but at the same time they were best of friends too.

The fight took us through a joy ride; however, amidst all the fun we missed out on important life lessons which the series taught us. Here are reasons which tell us why Tom and Jerry was much more than just a cartoon series.

1. We fight more with our loved ones
The entire series is about the fights between Tom and Jerry. Be it small fights where Tom will chase Jerry for disturbing his sleep to big fights where Tom landed in trouble because of the mouse – whatever it is, by the end of the day, they will be there for each other as F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Hence next time you fight with your friends, remember it is meant to happen. You just need to know the worth of friendship.

2. Confidence is the key
If we closely watch the series we will see that Jerry is full confidence. It is the only thing which keeps him tip toed every time of the day. He turns himself into a lion while doing the mischief and when chased he runs like a kangaroo. A small mouse taking so many avtaars is phenomenal. Hence next time start all your endeavors with confidence and you will be half way through already.

3. Trust –  the Oxygen of friendship
If you have noticed, Tom and Jerry both trusted each other beyond universe. They might have acted worse with each other but behind these layers of mischievousness there was an unbreakable bond, the bond of friendship built on trust. Hence, trust your loved ones blindly. At the end, either you will get a valuable friend or valuable lesson. It is a win win situation.

4. Size is just a number
Don’t be judgmental, just because your opponent looks tiny, does not mean he cannot beat you. Jerry was just a little tiny mouse but he bought thunderous clouds in Tom’s life. Be ready to fight any battle. After all, never underestimate the power of a common man!

5. Team Spirit
They fight only when they are alone but when they face a common enemy they club together to be a strong team. As the saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall!

6. Happiness secret
The scene where both Tom and Jerry drank milk from a common bowl all happily is one of my favorite scenes. Both looked contented. Eating together under one roof and knowing that the other person will always be there with you no matter what is one of the best feelings in the world. You don’t have to pay a price to be happy; you just have to select right people in your life to be happy.

7. There is no better teacher than mistakes
If you closely notice, Tom will never use the same techniques to trap Jerry. He failed before, but he only came to know that these tricks will not help him to trap Jerry. As Thomas Edison said, “I came to know about 999 ways which won’t work.” Hence next time you make a mistake, learn from it and make sure you don’t repeat it, because 2nd time making the same mistake will be out of a stupid choice.

8. Be an outsider always
When in problem, be an outsider and judge the situation. For instance, Jerry was one smart soul, who never got trapped by any of the Tom’s tricks. Why? Because he always used to put himself into Tom’s shoes and used to think in the same manner as Tom did. Want to defeat the opponent, be the opponent and then think and act. Results will be shocking!

9. Opportunities are hidden behind more complex situations
Every time Tom thinks he has trapped Jerry, the mouse out of nowhere shows up and defeats the cat with his tricks. Hence even if the opponent feels he has won, there are still chances of making that one last move to seal the win.

10. Always, always be down to earth
Both the characters in the series have got their own qualities. Tom portrays intellect, whereas Jerry has got the speed to overcome anything in the world. But none of them is ever seen proud of their assets. Everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses. It is all about staying grounded!

11. Never give up
Jerry has always won over Tom by using his simplest ideas. However tough trap Tom spread for Jerry he will always use his brains to get away from it. And then the next mischief is planned and the circle keeps on going. Jerry in the entire series has never given up on Tom. That is the beauty of life. If life does not give up, why should you?

12. Best gift is the gift of life long friendship
Materialistic gifts can be destroyed, but the gift of friendship is and will always be the most treasured gifts. Tom and Jerry stayed together always, in bad times, in good times, every time. Value relations in your life, they are priceless.

13. Keep the spark burning
Tom and Jerry created worse situations for each other, but they were never seen complaining about each other. In fact they were seen often celebrating little victories. Hence, try and be happy and learn to enjoy the moment. Worry less and never cry until required.

14. Sharing is caring
Both the characters in the series were worst of enemies but at the same they shared their emotions as well. None of them can see the other one sad and hence always tried to keep the other one happy. Try caring for a change; it will make the other person happy which in turn will make you happy.

15. Live a fun life.
There is a thin line between hating a friend and irritating a friend, but caring for him secretly. Tom and Jerry’s entire series is about the same thing. Hate people to ruin your own life but you can always irritate your friends to make your life more fun and happening.
