Congress MP Renuka Chowdhury delayed Air India flight for her shopping spree

Are VIPs taking advantage of their perks without considering about the people around? A politician’s right is to do everything for the welfare of the common people. But are they taking their decisions while being considerate of everybody else?

We don’t know! But this news can be true! An Air India flight from Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad got delayed the last Friday, as the former Union minister and Congress Rajya Sabha MP, Renuka Chowdhury was busy in her shopping spree at the airport’s shopping area. The pilot’s schedule got delayed and the people had started to take up the matter with the authorities.

When inquired about her being busy in the shopping area, Renuka Chowdhury said, “They have to establish where I went and shopped. What nonsense they are talking?” According to her the cart she had called for to take her to the aircraft came late.

However, TOI’s sources say, “Last Friday, former Union minister and Congress Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury was travelling to Hyderabad on Air India’s Chicago-Delhi-Hyderabad flight AI-126, which was scheduled to take off at 1900 hours. Chowdhury did not turn up on time despite repeated announcements of the final call by the airline staff. She finally turned up after scheduled departure time but not before the pilot had missed his turn in the departure sequence,”

Because her baggage was in the flight already, everyone had no choice but to wait for her. “This resulted in a 45 minutes delay in take-off as the pilot had missed his timings for departure given to him by the air traffic controller” said TOI’s sources. Air India has carried out an investigation on the incident and will declare the reason for the delay soon.
